Jared Bissinger
Jared Bissinger is a PhD candidate in economics at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, where he is working on a thesis on Myanmar’s business environment and informal economy. Mr Bissinger currently lives in Yangon where he is conducting quantitative and qualitative research about the investment and business climate. He has written about the Myanmar macro-economy, foreign direct investment to the country and the maritime boundary dispute with Bangladesh. His work has been published in Asia Policy, Contemporary Southeast Asia, World Politics Review and The Diplomat.
Prior to his PhD, Mr. Bissinger was a research fellow at the National Bureau of Asian Research in the U.S. He also interned with the US Department of State in Washington and the United Nations Development Program in Mongolia. He has a Master’s Degree from the Australian National University and an undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University.
