Dr Tun Myint

Senior Counselor, Healthcare

Dr Tun Myint worked for the Ministry of Health for 23 years, from 1988 to 2012. He worked as a civil assistant surgeon, an assistant medical superintendent, a project manager for a condom promotion program, the HIV epidemiologist for Upper Myanmar, and the Associate Professor/head of the epidemiology department at the University of Yangon.

Dr Tun Myint also has experience working for the private and development sectors, where he collaborated on projects with UNFPA and the WHO.  Dr Tun Myint also assisted oil & gas companies TOTAL and PETRONAS with the health aspect of their CSR programs in Myanmar. He is also the head of the development committee at local NGO Myanmar Business Executives (MBE).

Dr Tun Myint holds a MBBS, a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Development Studies from Yangon University. He also graduated with a Doctorate in Public Health, Master of Public Health, and a Master in Health Information Systems from Loma Linda University in the United States. He also conducted post-doctoral studies at UCLA in California. He is fluent in both English and Myanmar.
